Basically, Earth Day is a day to remember that it is very important to keep our planet clean.  Earth Day is celebrated in classrooms around the world.  Ways to celebrate Earth Day include planting trees (planting trees reduces greenhouse gas emissions, cleans pollution, and produces more oxygen), learn about the environment (learning about the environment will help each person realize the importance of keeping the Earth clean), recycle  - you can take this into your spring cleaning habits - such as recycling children's old toys, furniture, clothes, ect.

How to Decorate for Earth Day

I don't expect you to decorate your home all out for Earth Day, however there are a lot of teachers that look for ideas to decorate their classroom with.  Teachers can start their pupils on an Earth Day project such as a poster board with a list of 10 ways to help reduce the pollution on our Earth.  You may require that there are at least 3 pictures of something that has to deal with cleaning the earth on their poster board (bonus points for hand drawn pictures!)  You can even save these posters for next year!  There are also many Earth Day Projects and paper worksheets at this website.
